When asked what she enjoys about her work she stated, “One of my favorite things to do is work with Athena’s therapy dog, Whittan. Whittan is Dr. Ihrig’s dog, but he and I have a good working relationship. His mom named him Whittan because he is White and Tan. He has his own business cards which read, “Whittan, PhD, (PhD means “Pretty Happy Dog”)! Sometimes he goes through the waiting room and says “Hello” to people by waving his plume of a tail and handing out his business cards. He’s very respectful, however, and intuitively knows who is not comfortable with dogs and is willing to miss helping with a session. Dr. Livengood also stated, “If there’s anything I love to do it’s to give encouragement.” She really believes in building people up and focusing on their strengths.
