Tara Duffie, PMHNP-BC

Tara is a board certified psychiatric mental health nurse practitioner. Tara is licensed in the state of Tennessee as a certified psychological assistant, registered nurse, and advanced practice nurse with prescribing privileges. 

Tara’s educational background includes a bachelor’s degree from The University of Alabama, Tuscaloosa in psychology. She furthered her education by obtaining a master’s degree in clinical psychology from Middle Tennessee State University (MTSU). After graduation from MTSU, she worked as a psychometrist for a decade administering neuropsychological assessments in multiple settings including clinical, forensic, and research. With a desire to provide more autonomous psychiatric care, she returned to school and obtained her Master of Science in nursing degree from Vanderbilt University, specializing in psychiatric mental health over the lifespan. Presently, she is continuing her education by working on a Doctor of Nursing Practice degree at Vanderbilt University. 

Tara has worked in a variety of clinical settings throughout her education. She has worked on multiple settings including but not limited to, medical acute care, long-term skilled nursing, inpatient psychiatry, outpatient psychiatry, and emergency psychiatric services. Tara specializes in the treatment of both adolescents and adults with a variety of mental health issues. She is passionate about providing empathetic, holistic, and integrative mental health care.
